It’s absolutely terrible when such a disc is also clumsily signed, when even the name of the group can hardly be read.

Therefore, we strongly advise you not to give or send unformulated discs to someone. This is neither presentable nor serious. Therefore, you should take care of the professional design of the discs with your demos.

How to do it? In fact, it’s not as difficult as it may seem. And not so expensive.

First you need to decide on three components:

  • Type of box;
  • Cover;
  • And the number of copies.
  1. With regard to the type of boxes, for packaging music CDs we distinguish three suitable options:

Slim-jewel or slim-box. Thin boxing, thinner than standard twice. Can hold one disc. Option is the least preferable. The advantage of it, perhaps, is only in the size and economy of printing. It looks less solid also because it causes associations with blanks, which are often sold in these boxes.

CD-box (aka Jewel case and Jewel box). Standard packaging for CD. Usually it contains one or two disks. Has two positions for fastening liners – on the lid and the bottom. This option – perhaps the golden mean.

Digipack. In this type of box, the disk attachment is glued to a cardboard sheet folded in half or three times. The packaging is opened in the form of a book. Often also, all this is put into an additional box of solid cardboard also with a picture printed on all sides. This is the most beautiful and presentable version of the package. The only thing that Digipack does not do at home, but it’s worth it to order a print run at the factory, because it looks very solid.

  1. Once you have decided on the type of packaging, you will need to make a cover

Here, many immediately have problems, they say, “I’m not an artist,” “I’m not a designer,” etc. First, you do not have to be a designer, and secondly, you do not have to do the cover yourself.

Remember one of the previous articles in which we talked about delegation. If not you and not one of your friends / acquaintances is not a designer, entrust this work to a specialist. Yes, you will pay money for this, but you will get a professional cover, not a cheap handicraft.

In fact, it is not necessary to be wise here. The cover must be simple. Simple, I repeat, but not primitive. It should give an idea of the style of your music, be of high quality, neat and do not look like an outspoken kitchen-table job.

The main rule of registration of the front side of the cover: it must have a clearly read artist name.

Requirements for the rest of the printing industry:

  • List of songs with numbering, clear readable names and timing.
  • Brief information about the group / performer in the case.
  • Information on the composition of the group and the people who participated in the project (if there is a place).
  • At least one of your photos.
  • Contact details, including postal address.
  • Year of issue.

  1. Now you need to determine the number of copies

We cannot give concrete recommendations here. You need to analyze the situation on your own and decide how many copies you might need.

On my own experience I can say that at the beginning it’s enough from 30 to 100 disks.

So that they do not scatter on the first day, you just need to make it a rule not to distribute them to the right and left. Of course, we cannot prohibit you from donating some of the discs to your friends, but handing them out to everyone who does not get it will not be reasonable.

Just for everyone who does not get to distribute it is possible to use disks on ordinary blanks, of which we also recommend preparing a few more pieces.

So, suppose you have decided on the number of copies. What’s next? Next you need to actually make a print run. In fact, it’s not necessary to go to the plant that copies the disks for this. You can burn the discs on an ordinary computer, and print the printing on the printer.

Although, of course, discs manufactured at the factory by stamping are much better in all respects than disks that are reproduced on a computer. Yes, and the cost of one such factory disc together with printing leaves little more than a blank in the same package.

But wanting to make such a factory run, you will face two problems.

  1. The first problem is that factories are going to replicate discs only in large volumes – usually from 500 pieces. Less is not profitable. It is unlikely that you will find a factory that will agree to make a circulation of even 100-200 copies, and if it does, it will most likely be the same cutting on the duplicator and printing of covers on the printer.
  2. And the second problem is that most of the firms, before fulfilling your order, will require the conclusion of a contract, as well as require the submission of documents confirming the rights to the recorded information.

For many, this kind of layout does not work, so they will find it easier to find a private individual who can help with this in order to make a demographic record.

It is not difficult to find such a person. Surely in your city there are people who are engaged, for example, shooting weddings. Usually they have photo printers with them, which allow printing covers and images on discs. Even in small towns such people usually exist.

Moreover, you can buy and burn CDs, as well as buy boxes for them, and if you have a photo printer, there will be no problems with printing covers. You will only have to put images on the discs, for which you can already refer to who will do it. Or you can still buy special labels for the discs and generally do everything yourself.

Well, that’s all. As you can see, nothing complicated.

So, here we are and reviewed all those important little things that affect the success of the demo. You should always observe everything that we have told in this article.

Format and quality of audio files

This is also a very important point, which cannot be ignored.

Your demo should be presented on a physical medium (CD, flash drive) and in digital form – as files for sending by e-mail, posting on sites, in social networks, etc.

I would recommend that you immediately make several versions of both the preview and the full tracks in MP3 format with different bitrates. This is necessary in order not to bother with this in the future.

On the one hand, you can just make a folder with MP3 files and not bathe, but do not want to do this, that’s why. Some organizations still only accept files, for example, to a certain size and even strictly with a certain bitrate. Also, some file-sharing services (file hosts often) and audiohosting also come accurately.

At one time I even took the rule of doing a demo in MP3 formats in all possible variants of constant bitrate, ranging from 128 kbps and ending at 320 kbps. Thus, if I needed to send a file of size, say, up to 5 MB, then we found a file with a maximum size not exceeding 5 MB. Accordingly, the more “weighs” the file, the higher its bitrate and quality.

Audio file name

It would seem, such a trifle! But believe me, even this little thing plays an important role.

The main rule is simply trivial: the names of the files should be understandable.

In the title must necessarily be the name of the group / performer, and after it the title of the song through a dash.

All words and names written in Cyrillic letters must be in Cyrillic, the same rule applies to the Latin alphabet.

The files must be numbered so that the listener starts listening to the songs exactly in the order in which you were scheduled.

You do not need to specify anything in the file name.

In the file tags specify “Artist”, “Year”, “Genre”, and in the commentary necessarily leave your contact information. You can also put and copyright.

Examples of correctly signed audio files:

  1. The Minor Band – All the Things are Mine

All these rules should be observed in order that the listener does not rack his brains, what is the name of your song, and in which case he could easily find it later.

Also, when converting files to MP3, use high-quality software-encoders. We use the professional program Wavelab, but in general, this kind of program is very much, you will need to try different to find the best one.

  1. Registration of the physical version of the demo

Even if you plan to distribute and distribute your records exclusively through the Internet, you will still need a physical version of the demo.

The advantages of a well-designed physical version compared to electronic ones are significant:

  • It is tangible, you can touch it.
  • You can give it personally in your hands (you will not always send entries via the Internet).
  • A beautifully designed disc, for example, is harder to lose than a file on a computer.
  • It is more likely that the recording will be heard.
  • She looks more respectable and more representative.

Yes, yes, yes, CDs are rapidly disappearing into the past and they are replaced by much more convenient flash drives. But, nevertheless, musical records are still distributed on CD and I think that they will be distributed for more than one year.

Of course, flash drives are more convenient. But they will be difficult to decorate as beautifully as disks, they will need some boxes that will need to be done separately. Yes, and distribute records on flash drives will be quite expensive. Even professionally designed CDs, replicated by the method of factory stamping, are much cheaper than the cheapest flash drives.

In general, while unequivocally win disks.

Qualitatively designed disk – this is a huge plus. It will increase the chances that the record will be listened to, and will set you apart from others.

Actually, under a qualitatively designed disc, we mean a disc with an image on it, in boxing and with polygraphy, and not a blank in an envelope, cut at home and signed by hand.

Such a disk is, to put it mildly, quite untenable, it only emphasizes the frivolity of your intentions. This is the case when it’s better than not at all.

A person who takes responsibility responsibly will always take care of the quality of everything that has a relation to this business. There is much less likelihood that such a disc will be heard at all. In addition, such a disk is likely to be lost due to the lack of transparency and the fact that it simply does not look like a serious offer.

What are promo materials? Promo materials are a set of materials that let you know about you and your work. In simple terms, promotional materials are your demos, photos, videos, biographies, newspaper clippings, etc. That is, materials that give an idea of your musical project.

It is from the promotional materials will depend more on your success than on any other factors.

Therefore, in order to make your promotional materials qualitative, we created a separate series of articles in which I will talk about promotional materials in all the details. The main thing is to listen to my advice and apply it on my own practice.

Specifically, in this article, we will talk about the most important promotional material, namely the demo. From it, success can depend on more than half of all other factors affecting it.

At once I want to make a reservation that we will not here teach you to write hits and make beautiful records. If you are going to spin your music project, then you should already have great, well-executed and high-quality recorded songs.

However, even if you have objectively interesting, well performed and excellently recorded songs – this does not guarantee you success. Success depends on how you submit this material.

In addition, there are a number of technical nuances that affect the success of the demo. About them and will be discussed in this article. We will consider what a demo should be, in addition to the musical material itself.

So, you have a few songs, they are recorded, recorded qualitatively. And now, before they are sent somewhere to someone, you need to know a number of certain subtleties, not observing which your demo might even fail, no matter how interesting the musical material was.

  1. The structure of the demo record

It may seem strange, but, having given the same song in different ways, it can also be perceived differently by the listener. Therefore, before you publish your songs, you should make a structured demo.

A demo is a demonstration, a presentation of possibilities, a material that will allow the listener to become familiar with your work. This is not a musical album and not a complete work of art, if to speak in a narrow sense. This is not a full-fledged musical edition.

So do not include all your songs in the demo. The best option – three songs. Not more. You can less, you can even one. However, one song is unlikely to give a full picture of your work, while three songs for this should be enough.

Why is this so? And everything is simple:

People do not have time to listen to all your songs.

For a business person, even 10-15 minutes is a considerable time, and it’s impossible to spend an hour listening to someone’s records.

How to choose three songs, if you have more?

Very simple. To start by voting, choose the three best songs with other members of your collective, and then interview your friends, friends, relatives, and anyone. The main thing is to understand which three songs they like most. Next, analyze what you think, what others think, and, based on the results, make a choice.

Please note that there is usually nowhere and never said that the demo should contain only full versions of the songs.

If you have songs lasting more than 4-5 minutes, then it makes sense to make their so-called previews, that is, fragments of songs in the form, for example “Entry-Verse-Chorus” or (even better) specifically to make the shortened versions with shortened to a minimum or absent) entry and loss.

In this case, the person will spend 1-1.5 minutes listening to the song and if, after the chorus, it does not catch it, then with a probability of 90% will not catch after listening to the full version.

At the same time, it is possible, and, in my opinion, it is necessary to kill two birds with one stone, placing three previews and three full versions in your demo. If the listener likes the preview, he will listen to the full versions if desired.

We go further.

One of the main mistakes of many musicians is that they use in their demos a variety of intro, long introductions, etc.

So, in no case in the demo they cannot be included!

In fact, no matter how strange it may seem, even ordinary entries in the demo will be undesirable. It should strive to ensure that the entries to the songs either were not at all, or they were as short as possible.

I understand that very little song will sound convincingly without entry, but if it will not be possible to remove it, then at least its duration will then need to be reduced to the maximum.

Well, if the entry is not more than 10-15 seconds.

And in an ideal, running ahead, I will say that it is also desirable that in 30-40 seconds the chorus starts already. But this is ideal. It’s already questions of composition and arrangement.

Also it is desirable, that songs in general were no more than 4 minutes in duration. we perfectly understand that in some cases this is impossible, but, nevertheless, it will be better if the song lasts 3-4 minutes, not 5 or 8.

In the end, if a long introduction is, in your deep conviction, simply a vital and integral part of the song, then proceed as follows: make it a separate track immediately without pauses before the main one. In this case, it will be enough for a person to press the “Next” button to switch to the main song.

Now with regard to the sequence of songs

To a great extent, the success of a demo depends on the sequence of songs. If the demo starts with not the most successful song, then it is possible that no one else will listen to the rest of the song.

The demo begins with the most successful song.

Moreover, the song should not just be the best, it should be one of those that catches at once, and not in the middle or at the end, where a brilliant solo or a bridge for the soul sounds. If the listener does not like the first song, then most likely, neither the second nor the third he will not listen.

You may well have songs that really cling in the end or in the middle, and this does not mean that such songs should be abandoned. No! Just such songs are not the first place.

Remember, this is very important: the first song should be catching right away.

If you are preparing for the exam, you will certainly know what an argumentative essay is. If you’re not sure how to write one, I’ll give you some practical tips here.

The key to succeeding in an event like the production of writing is always training, but if you have the method, you certainly have a good starting point. The steps below are just hints, because everyone has their own way of writing. However, there are some points that must be respected when writing an essay.

Preparation for writing:

  • read all the documents, understand the subject and identify the problem;
    You have to read the texts carefully and pay particular attention to the titles. For example, if the documents focus on the role difference between today’s and former parents, and the title is “Parents, a difficult job?”, One must focus, among other things, on business word, used here in a provocative tone.
  • choose a point of view;
    You must choose whether you are for or against, whether you support one side or the other of the subject. Your text will then have the purpose of proving your thesis, your point of view, which you must defend to the end.
  • identify and highlight the actors who play an important role;
    To support your thesis, you need elements, facts, examples. You can find some in the documents provided. Point out all these useful elements to your essay.

Writing:

  • introduce the problem;
    You must present the problem with one or two introductory sentences. Be careful because these are the first words the reviewers will read.
  • write the plan;
    You must explain in a few words the plan and purpose of your essay.
  • add elements, facts, examples of your own and present them;
    Without falling into the staff, you must expose your ideas and develop the subject. Each idea should be corroborated, supported by convincing examples.
  • finish with a small concluding paragraph;
    Finally, you have to summarize what you just said so that the conclusion is clear. It is also advisable to finish by focusing on a new problem close to that treated.
  • give a title;
    Sometimes it’s easier to give a title to your work at the end, when you have everything in front of you and after you have worked through all the ideas you wanted to talk about. The important thing is that it is commonplace or the same documents.
  • reread and, if necessary, correct;
    If you notice any errors or find that you have used words that are too generic, correct them. The text must have a logical meaning: the connectors could help you.

Here is an example of a plan for a data leak study:

The purpose of this paper is to further identify data loss internally in order to obtain a more realistic and, without being exhaustive, more complete, vision. We will begin by defining the terms of our subject, by giving an account of the current state as well as the consequences. Then, we will examine the facilitating aspects of these losses and finally we will finish on some proposals of elements of prevention.

Here is an example (which I have reworked) of introduction with a plan of a report on the situation of the needs of the countries of sub-Saharan Africa. Locate the useful expressions:

“This report, prepared by FAO, is the third in a series that reviews the food supply situation, grain imports and food aid needs of all countries in sub-Saharan Africa. It aims to provide governments and international organizations with the latest analysis and information on the food situation in these countries.

The first part deals with the serious difficulties of food supply in certain regions. She drew attention to the deterioration of supplies in Liberia, where pockets of famine had appeared in several regions. It also highlights the instability of crop production and food supplies in the Great Lakes region. Attention is also drawn to the significant improvement in food supplies in southern Africa, following above-average harvests in 1996. Prospects for harvesting in the Sahelian countries of West Africa are also examined.

The second section provides assessments of crop prospects and food supply situation by subregion, and the most recent estimates of cereal import and food aid needs in the four subregions of Saharan Africa.”

Remember that this is just an example, and you need to write a text of about 1000 words. If your production is longer, you will not be penalized, but try not to get too carried away. In fact, you could find out a top-notch essay writing help at the best writing services on the Web. That will help you to be prepared for exam essay writing, as well as home assignment completion.

The ingenious composer Frederic Chopin in many respects differed from the majority of his predecessors and even his contemporaries. He wrote works only for pianoforte.

Crying to the sound of music

On March 1, 1810, a few dozen kilometers from Warsaw, in the village of Żelazowa Wola, a boy was born to the Polish and French family, who was named Frederick. The family lived in the count’s estate. There, Chopin’s father worked as a teacher for his children. Soon, Nicolas Chopin was offered to go to work at the Warsaw Lyceum, so the family moved to the capital.

Little Frederic grew up to the sound of music – my father played the flute and violin, and my mother sang beautifully and sometimes accompanied herself on the piano. Without uttering another word, Chopin began to cry when he heard music or singing at home. Parents are upset, they believed that the child does not like music. Very soon they were convinced of the opposite, because at the age of five, Frederic was already doing fine light plays that had been learned with Ludwik’s older sister. Known in the Polish capital, a musician from the Czech Republic Wojciech Zhivny agreed to become a teacher of the boy. An experienced teacher could instill in his talented pupil a love for classical music, especially for the works of Johann Sebastian Bach.

Little virtuoso Frederic Chopin

The debut of a small pianist took place in Warsaw. Then he was barely seven years old. The first concert was successful, and the news of the young talent quickly spread through the city. Chopin’s performing talent developed so rapidly that at a young age Frederic was on par with the best Polish pianists.

Teacher Alive even refused lessons with a small virtuoso. He said that he could teach Frederic nothing. In parallel with music studies, Chopin received an excellent general education. He spoke fluently in French and German, studied the history of Poland and absorbed volumes of fiction. The young man drew well, differed sharp mind, observation and surprising mimic talent, which could guarantee him a theatrical career. But since childhood he has chosen for himself the only way – music.

Best pianist of the country

After graduating from the Lyceum, Frederic entered the music school. There, his formation continued under the guidance of an experienced teacher and composer Joseph Elsner. He quickly realized that before him was not just talent, but a real genius. He even wrote about this in a characterization given to a young performer. By this time the young man had already been recognized as the country’s best pianist. In those years, his compositional talent became mature. This is confirmed by two concerts for piano and orchestra, written in 1829-1830. Now pianists from different countries invariably include these works in their repertoire.

Then Chopin fell in love for the first time. Tender feelings he experienced for the young singer Constance Gladkovskaya from the Warsaw Conservatory. It was under the influence of this that Frederic created the song “Desire”.

Farewell to the Motherland

The young musician visited Vienna, where he gave several concerts that were successful with the public. His family understood that a virtuoso pianist can go to a real concert tour. But Chopin did not dare to take this step for a long time. Bad apprehensions prevailed over him. It seemed to the composer that he left his homeland forever. After lengthy meditations in the autumn of 1830, Frederic left Warsaw, taking with him a cup with Polish friends presented with friends.

Unfortunately, his premonitions were not deceived. Chopin parted with his native land forever. Remembering the wonderful reception that had been given him in Vienna, Frederic decided from there to begin his tour. But, despite all the trouble, the musician never managed to organize an independent concert, and the publishers did not hurry to buy his works for publication.

Suddenly, from Poland came the disturbing news. Polish patriots organized an uprising against Russian tsarism. Frederic decided to suspend his tour and return to his homeland, but his relatives insisted that he did not come to avoid persecution. Reluctantly, Chopin submitted to his family and left for Paris.

On the way to the French capital, Frederic, another news came: the insurrection was brutally suppressed, its leaders were thrown into prisons and exiled to Siberia. In Paris he came with his famous etude, which was later called “revolutionary.” There he spent the rest of his life, although France could not become a second home for the composer. In all his attachments, as well as in his work, Frederic remained a true Pole.

Hats off, before you Chopin!

At first he conquered Paris with performing arts – listeners were amazed by his unusual manner of playing the piano. Against the background of the technically perfect performing skills of other pianists, his play was surprisingly spiritual and poetic. To this day, the memories of the eminent Hungarian pianist virtuoso and composer Franz Liszt on the first Parisian concert of Chopin have reached. He wrote that the growing applause could not fully express the admiration for the talent of young Frederick.

Everyone was fascinated by Chopin, only publishers took a wait-and-see attitude. They agreed to publish his works, but only for free. Frederic was forced to give daily hours of music lessons to earn his living. This work brought him income, but took a lot of energy and so much precious time. Even being a world-famous composer, Frederic Chopin could not leave these debilitating occupations.

With thoughts of Poland

The popularity of the composer and pianist helped to expand the circle of acquaintances. His friends were Franz Liszt, the French composer Hector Berlioz, the painter Eugene Delacroix and the German poet Heinrich Heine. But no matter how interesting he was with his new comrades, he never forgot about his compatriots. For example, for the sake of a guest from his homeland, Chopin could radically change the strict order of his day and go with him on a tour of Paris. Frederic listened to the stories about Poland and the Poles for hours. And when the poet Adam Mickiewicz came to see him, the composer sat down at his instrument and played favorite works of a close friend for a long time. Only Chopin’s music helped Mickiewicz to ease the pain of separation from his homeland. Thanks to Adam, Frederic was born the first ballad. The second ballad of the musician is connected with the images of Mickiewicz’s works.

Love is poison

Meetings with friends and compatriots were very dear to the composer, because he did not have his own family. He wanted to marry Maria Vodzinskaya from a noble Polish family, but her parents were categorically against this marriage. For many years, Chopin linked his fate with the French writer Aurora Dudevan, who is better known under the pseudonym of George Sand.

It is worth noting that there is not much reliable information about the history of their relations preserved. For example, Ferenc Liszt in his book quite unequivocally expressed that it was the writer who caused the early death of the composer. One of Frederik’s close friends – Wojciech Gjimala – also said that Aurora poisoned the existence of Chopin and was guilty of his sudden death. His pupil Wilhelm Lenz and did call her a poisonous plant. He was outraged by George Sand’s disdainful attitude toward the composer, even in the presence of strangers.

Famous, but alone

Over the years, Frederic Chopin rarely gave concerts, he limited himself to playing music in a narrow circle of close people. This allowed him to give himself entirely to creativity. He wrote sonatas, impromptu, scherzo, ballads, a new series of sketches, nocturnes, preludes, favorite polonaises and mazurkas. But along with the lyrical plays from the composer’s pen, dramatic and even tragic works have increasingly appeared. For example, Second Sonata with a funeral march. It became one of the most significant achievements of Chopin and all Polish music.

The composer’s last years were also bleak. His father died, followed by a break with Aurora. He became lonely and did not bear the blows of fate. From his youth, he suffered from lung disease, and now it has only worsened. During the last two years of his life, Frederic Chopin wrote almost nothing. At the invitation of friends, he went in the spring of 1848 with concerts in London, but the raw climate there only worsened his condition. He returned to Paris and on October 17, 1849, died in the arms of his sister, who came to him from Poland.

At the funeral of Frederic sounded “Requiem” of his beloved Mozart performed by the best artists of the French capital. He was buried in Paris, but Chopin’s heart bequeathed to send to Poland, where it is still kept in the Warsaw Catholic Church of the Holy Cross.

When the melancholic post-punk has already gained its momentum, and the optimistic material has not yet found all its listeners, a new style of alternative rock has emerged – the Dream Pop.

It happened in the early 80’s in Europe. Dream-pop was distinguished by its airiness and created a mysterious medieval atmosphere. It is believed that the founders of the style were Cocteau Twins. Guys from Scotland have created a unique sound. Vocalist Elizabeth Fraser had a unique “unearthly” voice – and in combination with the dynamic-atmospheric guitar accompaniment of Robin Guthrie and Will Heggie, Cocteau Twins served as a new spiral in the history of music.

A distinctive feature of Dream Pop is the use of folk medieval motifs and motifs of the Renaissance. In combination with them, musicians fantastically use synths, which, in turn, create an atmosphere of mystery and mystery, hidden in the depths of time. Not in the last place were symphonic, acoustic melodies in combination with choral timbres. For example, the previously mentioned Cocteau Twins group “multiplied” female vocals into polyphonic polyphony.

Despite all the refinement, in the sound of the Dream Pop there were also ordinary “pop” motives. From pop music, they took gentle rhythms and dance tunes.

Cocteau Twins can also be called the founders of the product. Like the British rock band The Cure and their colleagues This Mortal Coil. Classical representatives are such collectives as Pale Saints, The Ocean Blue, Spoonfed Hybrid, The Sundays, Belly, The Dream Academy, The Flaming Lips, Bel Canto, Spirea X, Hum, Frazier Chorus, Kitchens of Distinction, The Church.

John Lennon, with his dreamy, aspirated, vocals, created songs that can be safely attributed to the proto-Dream Pop, due to their atmospheric and ringing melodies. For example, “Sunday Morning” and “# 9 Dream”.

In the US, guitar drip-pop motifs also found followers. For example, Mazzy Star was distinguished by its stiff style – they skillfully combined blues, folk and psychedelic guitar sound. And their colleagues Low, on the contrary, created minimalistic arrangements and preferred slow tempos of compositions.

A direct continuation of the Dream Pop was the more noisy and even aggressive direction of the shoegaze – it combined the vigor of post-punk with the atmospheric sound of the Dream Pop. The difference was that the new branch was distinguished by its assertiveness and gravitated towards greater energy. The British band Slowdive and the Irish collective My Bloody Valentine are bright representatives of shoegaze.

Dream-pop also influenced such styles as post-rock, slowcore, trip-hop. These styles have abandoned the usual drive and sharpness of classical rock music in favor of airy and dreamy motifs of Dream Pop.

Dream-pop itself continued its development in the nineties and the beginning of the zero. Some describe this style as a New Geyser. At that time, there appeared such bands as M83, Mercury Rev, Dubstar, Amusement Parks on Fire, Laika, Asobi Seksu, Readymade, Bethany Curve, Halou, Mew, Windy & Carl, Auburn Lull, Trespassers William, Sigur Rós, Southpacific, Mira, Yume Bitsu, Devics, Xinlisupreme, Blonde Redhead, Psychic Ills, Air Formation, Broken Social Scene, Charlene.

The latest bright representatives of the Dream Pop can be called the American team Beach House. Vocalist Victoria Legran with her mysterious vocals sang under the usual dull notes for this style. And guitarist Alex Scally contrasted the rhythms on the guitar and synthesizer. The band was formed in 2004, and in 2015 they released their last album “Depression Cherry”.

Johann Sebastien Bach was born March 21, 1685 in Eisenach (Saxony), in the musical family. Several generations from the very beginning of the 16th century were professional musicians. Bach’s parents died early, and he was dedicated to the upbringing of his elder brother, who served as an organist at the church.

Brother taught him the basics of music, choosing as a material basically classic patterns. But the younger Bach knew that the elder under the castle kept the notes of modern fashion composers. At night, during moonlight, he made his way to a cherished cabinet and rewrote precious music. What was his disappointment when the older brother, having learned about night raids, took his original and a copy from him. Bach Jr., in tears, vowed that if he could not play this music, he would write another – even better. And because he wrote.

Since the end of his education, Bach has changed a lot of posts. He was a court musician in Weimar, a bodyguard in Arnstadt, an organist in Mühlhausen. During this time, he became very famous as a virtuoso organist.

In 1723 Bach moved to Leipzig, where he lived until the end of his life. The Leipzig period became the summit of the composer’s creative path, it’s years of creating the most monumental his works, although very difficult years in the material plane. He worked as a cantor in the Church of St. Thomas and at the school at this church, and also led the student’s “Music College”.

Until the latter days he wrote music – secular and spiritual, for various instruments. In his legacy more than 1000 works, but only one was issued during his life – the holiday cantata “The Lord is my king.” In the last years of his life, and after Bach’s death, his popularity as a composer began to diminish: his style was considered old-fashioned in comparison with the thriving classicism.

Under the old age, Bach is almost blind. Music for him was recorded by his son-in-law, under the dictation of the great composer. Arriving in Leipzig, the famous ophthalmologist John Taylor made two operations in front of Bach, but that did not help. The last work written by Bach was called “Here I appear before Your throne”.

July 28, 1750 he unexpectedly perceived, but in the evening with him there was a blow, and Johann Sebastian Bach left this world.

In the creative work of the great composer, almost all genres of the late Baroque era can be found, except for the opera: it’s works for soloists and choirs, organ and clavier music, orchestral compositions. The main expressive means is polyphony in combination with harmony.

Bach’s music was valued by many well-known composers who became classics – Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Mendelssohn. He also remembers him as an outstanding performer and educator. And in Leipzig, the Bach Festival is held annually – a prestigious international event in the world of music dedicated to the work of this great composer.

The music industry is not always loyal to lazy people and ragamuffin, and managers and producers do not always want to risk their wallet for the sake of insane ideas to no known musicians. In addition, to simply not get lost among the thousands of musical groups, you need to make considerable efforts. And you should make one mistake, and you are already on the sidelines. Simply put: it’s hard to make a star. But whether the talent, or the originality and brilliance of images, or even the mysterious fate sometimes turns into glory, which seems to fall from the sky.

Sex Pistols

Few people do not know about the legendary Sex Pistols. The history of these cultic punks began in the distant 1972, when three schoolmates – Steve Jones, Wally Nightingale and Paul Cook – created the band The Strand, also known as The Swankers.

The guys periodically visited the store of subcultural clothes “Too Fast to Live, Too Young to Die”, which belonged to Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren. The last in 1974, and came up with the idea of creating a provocative group, and he, not long thinking, chose the guys from The Swankers. Moreover, he helped to come up with a new name for the band and found a charismatic vocalist. He was the nineteen-year-old John Lydon, he’s Johnny Rotten, a “guy from the street” with purple hair and a torn shirt with the inscription “Pink Floyd”, over which the felt-tip pen was carelessly printed “I hate.”

Already since 1976, Sex Pistols was catalyzed through the clubs of London and its environs. They did not record records, and they did not play on the radio, but popularity still grew day by day. In August of the same year, Sex Pistols first appeared on television screens – their first single “Anarchy In The U.K.” sounded live and aroused the audience’s keen interest in punk, which the band was already personifying.

However, soon, because of the defiant behavior of the group members and their uncontrollable vandalism, there were major scandals, including on television. At the same time, bass player Glen Matlock was replaced by Sid Vicious – Rotten’s friend, who could not really play, but was a real, “canonical” punk. Despite the atmosphere of scandal surrounding the group, they managed to reach the label A & M. Press widely covered the signing of the contract on March 10, 1977 on the square in front of Buckingham Palace, but a week later the contract was terminated – the leaders were shocked by the hooligan behavior of musicians in the office of the company. But Virgin showed interest, with whom Sex Pistols released the single “God Save The Queen” in June of the same year – a kind of slap in the face to the government.

October 28, 1977 was the only studio album of the band – “Never Mind The Bollocks”, who took the first place in the British charts.

On January 18, 1978, after a lengthy tour, Rotten announced that he was leaving the Sex Pistols. Obviously, he was burdened by being in the group: by this time the relationship between him and McLaren was not the best, and the image of the band and its musical direction became a burden that hampered his artistic aspirations. Vicious went to New York, where he later died from a drug overdose, Cook and Jones, along with McLaren flew to Brazil, and Rotten to Jamaica, then founded the group Public Image Ltd. On this short, but full story of the Sex Pistols is over.

Sex Pistols were not the first punk band, but it cannot be denied – they were and remain one of the most vivid incarnations of the subculture. The influence exerted by the band on contemporary music can be compared to the one that Elvis Presley and The Beatles had at different times.

U2

Perhaps the secret of success is precisely to put together a group together with childhood friends? Anyway, in the case of U2 it all started almost the same way as in Sex Pistols – from the school bench.

Group U2 appeared after the fourteen-year-old Larry Mullen Jr. left a note on his notice board in his school: “The drummer is looking for musicians to create a band.” At that time, punk rock was extremely popular, and teenage groups arose everywhere – Bono (vocals and guitar), Edge (guitar, keys and vocals) and Adam Clayton (bass guitar) soon responded. It happened in Dublin in the autumn of 1976. Since then, the composition of the group has remained unchanged.

Thanks to the victory in the St. Patrick’s Day competition in 1978, the young team had 500 pounds, which they spent on recording a demo tape. Along with it appeared and began to grow in popularity, the group got a manager – it was (and still is) the former television man Paul McGuinness. But the musicians could not escape from Ireland. Their first two singles – “Three” and “Another Day”, were released only for the local market.

Everything changed after the contract with the label Island Records in May 1980. Then there was the first “foreign” single U2 – “11 O’Clock Tick Tock”. Next came the first full-length album – “Boy”, based on the lyrics of which were teenage problems and experiences. This debut is considered one of the most successful – the album reached the 63rd line on the Billboard 200, and the single “I Will Follow” reached the 20th position in the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks hit parade, becoming a hit on student radio, making U2 on hearing. Live performances of the band with this material were criticized, but, nevertheless, this work demonstrated the potential of the young group. Later, in 1995, the album was awarded a platinum status.

Further career U2 rushed only up. To date, the group has 12 full-length albums. Of course, U2 has long been no rebel students, as they were at the very beginning of their journey, and not “guys from the working edge”, which they were convenient to see the press in the mid-80s – they change, but at the same time not change their ideals and remain themselves.

Tokio Hotel

The fact that luck is smiling is not that young, but, it can be said, very young, at some times confirm Tokio Hotel.

It all started with a teenage Devilish group, created in 2001 by twins Bill and Tom Kaulitz. After two years of performances and participation in competitions, the guys noticed producer Peter Hoffman. He offered them a new name and helped record the first album. Soon the first video was created for the song “Durch den Monsun”, which immediately got on German TV channels. Young musicians immediately succeeded in winning the audience’s love and getting crowds of fans.

Significant support for Tokio Hotel was provided by the youth magazine BRAVO. The popularity of the guys was gaining momentum, and the second video of the band, “Schrei”, was instantly in the top of all European charts, as was the third clip “Rette mich”, released in 2006. In the same year, the children were awarded the König Pilsener Arena in Oberhausen. By June 2006, more than 400,000 albums, more than 100,000 DVDs, and at least 200,000 tickets for concerts were sold. By this time, Tokio Hotel had appeared on the cover of BRAVO 13 times.

To date, Tokio Hotel does not lose its popularity. On their account, a lot of awards and prizes in a variety of categories, including the MTV Europe Music Award, MTV Video Music Award, Echo Awards and others.

When recording in studio conditions, there is one most important rule – complete trust to the sound engineer. If you are not sure which sound you need, or if you have any problems, consult with the sound engineer. His goal is to get an excellent result that you like. Therefore, he not only can, but also need to ask for advice.

All your wishes are better to express right away, as the foundations of the sound of the entire song are laid just at the stage of sound recording. And many nuances will be difficult to correct during the information or mastering.

After setting up and connecting the instruments, the import of phonograms into the project is completed through the direct entries. Below are a few simple recommendations that will help you during this critical process.

Comfortable monitoring

First of all, it is necessary to ensure comfortable monitoring. You will receive a phonogram or sound of your instrument under the metronome in the headphones or monitors.

Try playing / singing to see how comfortable you are with it. Pay attention to the overall volume of the sound in the headphones, make sure that the balance between the accompaniment volume and how you hear yourself or your instrument is comfortable. The feeling of listening comfort is not an exact concept, and it can be different for different people.

It happens that the performer does not get into the note during the recording. This may be a consequence not of his poor singing, but of the fact that he simply hears himself badly.

In addition, do not forget that the sound in the headphones and the sound at the output will be different. The main task of monitoring is to help you not to go astray and fall into tact. Therefore, do not evaluate the sound of your voice or instrument by the sound that you hear in your headphones.

And, by the way, do not forget to transfer your phone to silent mode. Better shut it down altogether. Otherwise you just run the risk of spoiling an excellent take.

Tool position

Monitor the position of the instrument (or head, if you are singing). It should not vary with respect to the microphone. The sound engineer will tell you about it. Musicians often fall into captivity emotions and begin to move intensively in the performance process. This in itself is good, but can negatively affect the balance of sound.

Breaks in work

If you can not cope with some difficult moment, do not get hung up on it. Start recording other material or just relax.

By the way, with long recording, when, for example, a group writes a track or several tracks throughout the day, it’s worth taking breaks from time to time. This will allow the musicians to relax, and the sound director – to preserve the objectivity in the evaluation of the recorded material, since his hearing can “blur” with prolonged continuous listening.

There is nothing so complicated in the studio sound recording. You just need to listen to the sound engineer, ask him for advice, and then the recording process will not cause you any difficulties and negative emotions, and the final result will exceed all expectations.

Time requires the education of an active person, who can not only find information, but also competently, coherently, logically, responsibly and clearly formulate his opinion on any issue. The most successful genre of written work, which promotes the development of creative abilities of students, is an essay. This kind of work is primarily aimed at activating educational and cognitive activity, developing creative potential of individuals and productive, critical thinking. Involving students in writing essays, the teacher develops their independent thinking, teaches clearly and competently to formulate their own thoughts, structure information, establish causal relationships, illustrate the concept by appropriate examples, improve the style of writing, etc. “Unlike other methods of control and verification of knowledge, the purpose of the essay is to diagnose a productive, creative component of cognitive activity, which involves the analysis of information, its interpretation, construction of reasoning, comparison of facts, approaches and alternatives, formulation of conclusions, personal assessment of the author, etc.”

Essay contributes to the development of students of social and emotional intelligence. For the transfer of personal perception of the world, the author of such a work can give examples, draw parallels, take analogies, use various associations, express imagination and imagination. The text may contain authorial reflections, lyric indents, descriptions, etc. An essay is more impressive if there are unexpected turns of thought and unpredictable conclusions.

Thus, an essay is a small volume prose piece that has an arbitrary composition and expresses an emphasis on the individual point of view of the author and impressions on a specific occasion or question and does not claim to be a comprehensive and decisive interpretation of the topic. The purpose of the essay, in contrast to the story, is the information or explanation, not a dramatic image or a translation of any life situation. Essay achieves its goal with the help of a direct author’s statement, which does not require the creation of either fictional characters, nor the plot that binds them. This is a work based on the creative approach of man to the disclosure of the problem set in the original text, which must be confirmed by arguments and facts.

As a genre of critique and journalism, the essay provides a new, subjectively painted statement about something and can have a philosophical, historical, biographical, journalistic, literary-critical, popular science, and fiction. His goal is to develop skills of independent creative thinking and writing of own thoughts.

The defining features of an essay, as a rule, are a small volume, a specific theme, given in the underlined subjective interpretation, arbitrary composition, unusual way of thinking. The style of the essay is figurative, aphoristic, using fresh metaphors, new poetic images, a conscious instruction in spoken intonation and vocabulary. At the forefront is the personality of the author.

Building an essay

Constructing an essay is a discovery of a theme based on the classical system of evidence. There are different thoughts about the composition itself. Some sources state that such a text is arbitrary in form. Some scholars insist on the presence of certain essential elements of the essay:

1) the introduction, in which it is necessary to substantiate the choice of the topic, correctly formulate the thesis;

2) the main part in which the deployment of the thought about the issue and the argumentation is given;

3) generalization of conclusions according to the topic.

Stages of work on an essay

  1. Choosing a theme and defining a problem.

Pay attention to the exact wording of the subject essay, which is usually formulated in such a way that it provides for not one “correct” answer, but several solutions. Identifying the problem and its solution is the main content of the essay.

Before writing an essay, think about its structure and content. The easiest way to do this is by asking yourself a few questions about the subject. Formulating responses to them will help in writing the main part. Try to immediately determine the stylistics of your future story.

  1. Selection of material

Once the topic becomes clear and the problem of the essay is formulated, it is necessary to spend time on the collection of material (books, articles, Internet resources) and its analysis.

Properly written essay requires a variety of rhetorical techniques.

It is recommended to use antitheses, repetitions, rhetorical questions, exclamations. In any case, using such means, you significantly increase the impact on the reader, but you need to use them appropriately and correctly.

  1. Work on a draft.

Work must begin with a draft, which allows you to work creatively. Write only on one side of it. Fields are required to make corrections and additions in the process of re-reading and editing the original text. On the back of the sheet there remains a place for the writing of quotations, examples specifying the idea, etc. It is imperative to check the structure: is there a logical connection between the paragraphs, or in a single style the work is written, or there is no unnecessary information. Essay should go short and concise. Avoid false emotions and superfluous words. Find a sincere tone, not very formal, but not too spoken. Add to the essay a sense of optimism.

  1. Writing an Essay.

Do it by your own considering all the methods and recommendation above. Or simply order your paper at https://www.amblesideprimary.com.
